Lenovo S930

At six inches, the Lenovo S930 is bigger than the Vibe Z, but not necessarily better. Despite its large size, its screen resolution isn't quite as sharp as other phablets, coming in at 1,280x720 pixels.

The S930 is running Android 4.2, has a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek CPU, and sports an 8-megapixel main camera. There's a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera as well, additional camera software for applying photo effects, and a dual SIM card slot.

Lenovo's Vibe Z may stand tall at 5.5 inches, but the company's real gigantor smartphone screen in 2014 is the 6-inch S930.

Despite its ultra large screen size, the S930 has a smaller 1,280x720p HD display, which is much lower than the 1,920x1,080p HD resolution you'd really expect to see on a higher-end phone of this size.

Now, Lenovo isn't claiming that the S930 is a lofty flagship device, though screen resolution aside, there's a lot to like in this big'un, at least on paper. In fact, its internals are very similar to the Lenovo A859 that the company also announced, and also related to the smaller, 4.7-inch Lenovo S650
.
Let's start with the Android 4.2 operating system (4.3 would make me happier,) a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek CPU, and an 8-megapixel camera. There's a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera as well, additional camera software for applying photo effects, and a dual SIM card slot.

A pair of front-facing speakers and Dolby Digital Plus audio promises strong audio quality for speakerphone and music playback on this silver-colored phone with its fabric-like backing. A slim device, the S930 measures 8.7mm (0.34-inch) around the middle.
